Other ways to say “I don’t know”

In every situation in life there will be moments and questions that we just don’t know the answer to. And, it is perfectly normal and fine to acknowledge it. Nobody knows everything. Variety is the spice of life, so, instead of using the standard “I don’t know”, here are some additional expressions meaning the same thing.

You can use these with your friends:

I have no clue.

It’s a mystery to me.

I haven’t got the faintest idea.

It’s beyond me.

Don't ask me.

Your guess is as good as mine.

It beats me.

When you want to sound more professional to your superiors:

I’ll get back to you on that one.

I haven’t looked at that yet.

That’s a good question, I’ll check it.

That's not my area of expertise, I will ask.

I can find out for you.

I’m not 100% sure on that.

I have been wondering the same thing!

I will double check and get back to you.

We hope that the next time you get in a situation where you don’t know something, you will remember these phrases and use them.
